How Many Honey Sachets Per Day? And How to Start

Updated 2026-09-20 · 5 min read

Short answer: one to two a day, and start with less than that. The longer answer is about allergy risk and sugar, both of which are worth thirty seconds of your attention.

What the label says

ONYX is labelled one to two sachets per day, with an instruction not to exceed that. The Supplement Facts panel treats two sachets (20g) as one serving, which is where the 2,000mg royal jelly and 300mg ginseng figures come from.

So a 24-sachet box is 12 servings, or between 12 and 24 days depending on how you take it.

Start with half a sachet, not two

This is the part worth reading even if you skip everything else. Royal jelly is a bee product and a documented allergen, with reactions reported up to and including anaphylaxis. Risk is higher if you have asthma or an existing allergy to bee products or pollen.

If you have never taken royal jelly before, a sensible first day is a small amount rather than a full serving, so that if you are going to react you find out on a small dose. That is ordinary caution with any new allergen, not a special property of this product.

The ceiling is partly about sugar

A honey sachet is mostly honey. For ONYX, a two-sachet serving is about 70 calories and roughly 13g of sugars, all of which count as added sugars.

For context, US dietary guidance suggests keeping added sugars under about a tenth of daily calories, which for many adults lands around 50g. A full serving is a meaningful slice of that, and stacking sachets on top of a normal diet adds up faster than people expect. If you are managing blood sugar, count it as the sweet food it is.

And partly about the ginseng

The other reason for a ceiling is Panax ginseng, at 300mg of root extract per serving. Reported side effects, including trouble sleeping, headaches and digestive upset, are more commonly associated with higher intakes. Doubling up on sachets doubles the ginseng too.

If you drink a lot of coffee, see ginseng and caffeine before you increase either.

Which pack size to start with

PackBest forPer sachet
3 sachetsFinding out whether you tolerate it and like the taste. This is a trial, not a supply$4.00
6 sachetsA short run once you know it agrees with you$3.33
12 sachetsA steady few weeks at one a day$2.33
24 sachetsYou already know you tolerate it. Cheapest per sachet$1.67

The honest recommendation, if you have never had royal jelly: buy the 3-pack. It is the worst value per sachet and the right first purchase, because finding out you react to bee products on a 24-box is an expensive way to learn it.

Both editions come in all four pack sizes at the same prices.

Common questions

How many honey sachets can I take per day?

ONYX is labelled one to two sachets per day and says not to exceed that. Two sachets is one serving on the Supplement Facts panel. Taking more mainly means more added sugar and more ginseng, and ginseng side effects are more commonly reported at higher intakes.

Can I take two sachets at once?

Two sachets is a single serving on the panel, so yes, within the daily limit. If you have not taken royal jelly before, start with less on the first day so that any allergic reaction happens on a small amount.

Should I take it every day or only when I need it?

There is no established schedule, and no evidence that daily use is required for any effect. Many people use sachets situationally, before training or as an afternoon alternative to something sweeter. Either fits within the label.

Which pack should I buy first?

If you have never taken royal jelly, the 3-pack. It costs the most per sachet and is still the right first purchase, because it lets you find out whether you tolerate a bee product before committing to 24 of them.
